The Olde English Bulldogge, also known as Olde's or Bulldogge's is a breed like no other. They are a recreation of the 18th century working Bulldogge. This is not an English Bulldog. However, your Olde should have some bulldog-like features in their appearance.
If you are considering purchasing an OEB puppy or becoming an OEB breeder please read the pages on "Kennel Blindness" and 20 Points to Better Breeding. These articles will save you time, money and kennel growing pains.
The Taylor's Choice Bulldogge Vision
Taylor's Choice Bulldogges (OEB) is a group of small kennels located primarily in Central &
Because of personal preference, our OEB's tails will be docked and they will carry a significantpercentage of Hermes bloodlines in their pedigrees. This line breeding gene pool program tends to produce very athletic and impressive looking dogs when they reach full maturity.
The Olde English Bulldogge is a contemporary recreation of the original 18th century Bulldogge which became extinct. You need to understand that this dog no longer existed at some point in nature. What we see today is a variety of perceived versions of what we believed the dog to look and act like prior to extinction. Current OEB lines can only be traced back about forty (40) years. Developed during the 1970s by David Leavitt, this breed was re-created using an English Bulldog, Bullmastiff, American Bulldog, and Pit Bull. Mr. Leavitt's goal was to produce an Olde English Bulldogge that was not violent in temperament and free of the health problems associated with English Bulldogs. Other breeders such as Greg and Linda Hermes have also been instrumental in the restoration of the breed along with a number of other breeders across the country.
